Hilbish Ford has sold more than 10,000 vehicles since it opened in 1954. The dealership started in downtown Kannapolis, when Buddy Hilbish bought the old Yoos Motor dealership from the Cannon family. He bought a second dealership, Concord Motors, in 1958, and then merged the two dealerships together at the current location in Kannapolis in 1968. When the new dealership opened in 1968, Buddy was quoted in the local newspaper by saying, “We feel very optimistic about the Concord and Kannapolis area.” As the dealership approaches 60 years in the area, Hilbish Ford is still very optimistic about the future.
